At a glance: what sets these gummies apart
This collection brings together three individual gummies and three packs. The individual gummies share the same format (2 gummies a day, 60 per jar, pectin-based and with polyols) and differ in what each one provides per serving:
| Product | Actives per serving (2 gummies) | How to take |
|---|---|---|
| Collagen Gummies | 1000 mg hydrolysed collagen, 24 mg vitamin C (30% NRV), 15 µg biotin (30% NRV), 18 µg selenium (33% NRV) | 2 gummies a day |
| Hair & Nails Gummies | 5000 µg biotin (10000% NRV), 630 µg vitamin A (79% NRV), 20 µg vitamin D (400% NRV), 7.4 mg vitamin E (62% NRV), 2 mg vitamin B6 (143% NRV), 442 µg folic acid (221% NRV), 6 µg vitamin B12 (240% NRV), 5.2 mg pantothenic acid (87% NRV), 42 µg iodine (28% NRV), 2.7 mg zinc (27% NRV), 20 mg vitamin C (25% NRV), 40 µg inositol | 2 gummies a day, preferably after a meal |
| Gummies for Skin Hydration and Firmness | 130 mg hyaluronic acid, 50 mg vitamin C (62.5% NRV), 16 mg niacin (100% NRV) | 2 gummies a day, preferably after a meal |
The packs group gummies from the range: the Beauty Pack brings together the three beauty gummies; the Glow Pack combines the Hair & Nails Gummies with other gummies from the range; the Women's Balance Pack is the third set presented on this page.
What the research says
Collagen and skin. In a meta-analysis of 10 randomised controlled trials with 646 participants, collagen supplements increased skin hydration and elasticity; the most frequent dose in the studies was 4 g a day (median 3.5 g) 1. An earlier meta-analysis, of 19 trials with 1125 participants (95% women, 20–70 years), found favourable results for hydration, elasticity and wrinkles 2. In the opposite direction, a meta-analysis of 23 trials with 1474 participants concluded that, in studies without industry funding and in those of higher quality, the effect on hydration, elasticity and wrinkles was not significant 3. In other words: the evidence is mixed, and the Collagen Gummies provide 1000 mg per serving, well below the doses used in those trials — study doses are not dosing instructions.
Oral hyaluronic acid. A meta-analysis of 7 randomised controlled trials found statistically significant improvements in hydration, elasticity and wrinkle depth with oral hyaluronic acid; firmness, wrinkle volume and transepidermal water loss did not reach significance, although they showed a trend towards improvement 4.
Biotin. A crossover trial in 6 healthy adults showed that oral biotin is almost entirely absorbed even at pharmacological doses 5. This concerns absorption, not results for hair or nails. For vitamins and minerals, biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and skin and vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin 6.
Who it may suit (and who it may not)
These gummies may fit people who want a simple routine of 2 gummies a day, sugar-free and pectin-based, and who prefer to keep supplementation in a format that is easy to stick to. If your goal is to support the nutrition of skin, hair and nails with vitamins and minerals in doses that fit a daily label, the Hair & Nails Gummies are the option with the most micronutrients per serving; if you are mainly looking for collagen, the Collagen Gummies are the right option; if the focus is hydration, the Gummies for Skin Hydration and Firmness are the right option.
They are not, however, a treatment. They do not replace a varied and balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle, and there is no clinical evidence to support the use of collagen to prevent or treat skin ageing 3. If you have a diagnosed skin, hair or nail condition, or if hair loss is sudden and intense, the right step is to talk to a healthcare professional — not to adjust supplements on your own. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, ill or taking medication, consult a healthcare professional before use. The gummies should be kept out of the reach of children; they should not be given to children without the advice of a healthcare professional.
How to choose between the three gummies
Before buying, it is worth looking at three things: what each gummy provides per serving, how many jars you are willing to manage, and whether you already take any of these nutrients in another supplement.
- Do you want collagen? The Collagen Gummies give 1000 mg hydrolysed collagen per 2 gummies, plus vitamin C, biotin and selenium. If you are interested in the doses used in skin trials, read the guide to collagen and the article on the recommended daily dose.
- Do you want the widest set of micronutrients? The Hair & Nails Gummies bring 12 actives per serving, including 5000 µg biotin and 2.7 mg zinc. Because biotin can interfere with laboratory tests, tell your doctor and the laboratory before any tests.
- Do you want hydration? The Gummies for Skin Hydration and Firmness provide 130 mg hyaluronic acid and 50 mg vitamin C per serving. To understand what to expect, see the article on what hyaluronic acid does and does not do.
If you would rather have a ready-made set, the Beauty Pack brings together the three beauty gummies. If you are building a wider routine, also see the available packs.
Limitations and label warnings
None of these gummies promises results, and the label is clear about the limits. All three contain polyols: excessive consumption may have a laxative effect. You should not exceed the recommended daily dose, and food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, ill or taking medication, consult a healthcare professional before using any of these gummies. The Hair & Nails Gummies also warn that biotin can interfere with the results of some laboratory tests — tell your doctor and the laboratory that you take this supplement. The Collagen Gummies should be kept out of the reach of young children; the Hair & Nails Gummies and the Gummies for Skin Hydration and Firmness should be kept out of the reach of children.
On the evidence: collagen and hyaluronic acid studies mainly measure skin parameters in adults, with results that vary between analyses 1 4 3. There are no authorised health claims in the EU for collagen or hyaluronic acid as ingredients; authorised claims apply to vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C, which contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin 6. If you want to go deeper into the nutrition side, start with the guide to vitamin C and the guide to zinc.
Frequently asked questions
Can I take all three beauty gummies at the same time?
All three are designed for 2 gummies a day and share vitamin C, so adding all three increases the total amount of vitamin C and polyols you take in. If you want to combine products, review the labels with a healthcare professional so you do not duplicate nutrients unnecessarily.
How long does it take to notice anything?
There is no guaranteed timeframe. The collagen and oral hyaluronic acid trials that showed changes in skin parameters ran over several weeks, and results vary between studies. Treat supplementation as part of a routine, not as something with a fixed deadline.
Do the gummies replace a balanced diet?
No. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle, as the label itself states.
Why do the Hair & Nails Gummies have so much biotin?
The dose per serving is 5000 µg, far above the NRV. Oral biotin is well absorbed even at high doses, but that concerns absorption and not results for hair. Important: biotin can interfere with laboratory tests, so tell your doctor and the laboratory before having them.
Who should be careful before buying?
Pregnant women, breastfeeding women, people with a diagnosed condition or taking medication should talk to a healthcare professional before use. The gummies contain polyols and excessive consumption may have a laxative effect; they should not be given to children without the advice of a healthcare professional.
